Psychotherapy

“You cannot bury pain and not expect it to grow roots.”  Caroline Casey

I believe we all have a deep yearning to understand ourselves, to be understood, and that we all have an inborn mechanism that urges us toward growth. But for a lot of us, our biggest obstacle is that we don't really know what our issues are or what keeps us from flourishing in the ways that we have imagined or had hoped for. And if we do have some inkling, we often don’t know what direction to take or how to find the right solutions. Like Albert Einstein has said, “No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.”  Where do you even begin on the path to self-discovery? This is where psychotherapy comes in.

If you are considering psychotherapy or setting any intention related to your personal growth, you are already charting progress. To bring this point home, just think - changing the rudder on a sailboat by a mere 3 degrees changes the entire trajectory of its path. This means that you have already stepped into an infinite stream of possibility. You have already shifted your course toward opportunity.

My role as psychotherapist is to offer a safe, supportive, and caring environment where you may, first and foremost, freely give voice to your inner longings and concerns without judgment or fear. Through identifying and articulating your experiences, attitudes, and beliefs you not only exercise your capacity for self-awareness but you step into a deeper re-acquaintance of yourself. You build a healthier perspective and tap more deeply into your innate inner resources. You develop new skills and hone the ones you have to create more authentic and meaningful responses to your life -and which enable you to thrive.
